Nobody wants to download RealPlayer unless they have to in order to view RealMedia files. However, Gabest created an alternative program to play RealMedia files called Real Alternative.

Before I found out about this program, I was certain the only way to play Real files types was through RealNetworks' official commercial media player called RealPlayer. As I discuss in the RealPlayer review, it is heavy and bloated software with many ads and sponsors, especially the free version. Real Alterative, in contrast, is light-weight and created in response to user distaste with RealPlayer.

Real Alternative installs Media Player Classic that emulates the look and feel or Windows Media Player 6, an extremely simple and fast player. The main difference is that this emulated version also plays RealMedia file types.

There are no ads and no additional bloat in Real Alternative. It is both a browser plugin and a media player for the Real file types.

There's nothing wrong with this program, but I don't see why someone would use it unless they needed it for Real media types. You may want to download this now or remember this page for later for that one day you come to a website that still uses the Real media formats.

CD Recovery Toolbox Free is a data recovery tool, designed to recover files from scratched or otherwise damaged or corrupt CD, DVD, HD DVD and Blu-Ray disks. Just select the drive that contains the media you want to recover from, check the files you want to restore and start the recovery process. Depending on the level of damage, the recovery process may take a long time, and may not recover all the files. It did recover a good portion of images for us from a badly scratched CD that Windows was not able to read properly.

Reach-a-Mail is a portable email client that can be carried on a USB drive and used to check your email, download mesages, and also send or forward messages. It includes a simple address book to store your contacts and an option to import existing contacts (as well as mail and settings) from Outlook Express. Reach-a-Mail can be used with multiple POP accounts and supports SSL and TLS. You can choose to download complete messages or headers only, and also leave messages on the server so they can be retrieved later with your regular email program. The interface is modern and easy to use.

Angry IP Scanner


Angry IP scanner is a very fast and small IP scanner. It pings each IP address to check if it`s alive, then optionally it is resolving hostname and tries to connect at specified in Options dialog box TCP port. The program uses separate threads for each scanned address to reduce scanning speed. It can also display NetBIOS information: computer name, workgroup, currently logged user and MAC address.

Omziff is a standalone encryption and security utility, that allows you to encrypt/decrypt a file, using several well known encryption algorithms, including Blowfish, Cast128, Gost, IDEA, Misty1, Rijndael, and Twofish. Restoration is an easy to use and straight forward tool to undelete files that were removed from the recycle bin or directly deleted from within Windows, and we were also able to recover photos from a Flash card that had been formatted. Which phones should be done with and without test points?

All POG platform phone models with the 6.3.2 boot core version can only be done through a test point. Trying to unlock the phone in other ways will not give any results. There is no point in pressing “Unlock” when the phone is powered on – the software will just switch the phone into the flash interface.

All LTE platform phones with the 8.A.1 boot core version or higher can only be unlocked with a test point, lower version phones can be done without a test point.

All LTE2 platform phones can only be done through a test point.


Choose the exact phone model from the model selection menu. If you are not sure what your phone model is – check the sticker under the battery or press “Read Info” button when the phone is powered on. Verifying your phone’s model is very important - sometimes phones look exactly the same, but can have totally different hardware or be even built on different platforms, for example – V3 is LTE, V3r is LTE2.

If your phone’s model is not present in the list do not try to unlock it selecting the model that in your opinion will fit your phone.

Contact us and we will add your phone’s model to our software as soon, as possible.

How to unlock a phone using test point:

1. Select the right model in MSTOOL.
2. Do not click unlock. Cancel if started.
3. Switch the phone into the flash interface using a test point (Windows will play a new hardware sound "ding - ding".)
4. Disconnect test point.
5. Click unlock.
6. Wait until the software has finished unlocking.
7. Your phone is now unlocked.

The most common mistakes:

1)Clicked unlock. Software is waiting for a phone to be connected. Connected the phone thought test point. Phone has entered the needed mode – you didn’t disconnect the test point in time because phone is unlocked too fast.

Solution: Follow the “How to unlock a phone using test point” guide.

2)Didn’t connect the test point, powered the phone on and clicked unlock. Software has switched the phone to the flash interface and sent boot, but the phone doesn’t do anything.

Solution: Connect the test point – read the “How to unlock a phone using test point”.

How to repair a phone?

This software will not repair your phone if it’s physically damaged or has damaged components. Software will only repair phones with damaged software such as PDS or boot core.
If your phone’s software was damaged and does not power up after the repair and you have chosen the right phone model it means that you need to fully flash the phone with MSTOOL or PST, RSD or any other flasher.

1. Choose your phone model on the service page (if the phone model is supported by your version of the software) – Repair PDS button will become active. Read the “Which phones should be done with and without test points?” guide to find out if you should use test point or not. Connect the phone to the PC and make sure that it is in flash interface.

2. Click Repair PDS.
- If you are repairing LTE2 or POG platform phone repair is done in one step.
- If the phone is LTE platform the repair is done in two steps. Wait for the first step to finish, the software will tell you when it is ready for the second step. Follow the on screen tips to complete the second step.

Note: Current software does not repair physically damaged phones, it can only repair PDS and boot core. Repair does not fix flash, to fix flash you need to re-flash the phone with any available flasher.

How to unlock ODM phones.

1. Select the exact model from the menu.
2. Check to which COM port the phone is connected.
3. Select the port number from the menu.
You need to know what cable you are using and if it supports high speeds – the higher the speed the faster the unlock process.
4. Connect cable to the phone.
5. Turn the phone off.
6. Press unlock and wait for the software to prompt you to press the phone power button. Press the power button shortly – you don’t need to hold the button. If the error message is displayed - wait for 3 seconds and click the power button again. You may have to do this step up to 5 times. If you feel that you need to start again – disconnect the battery.
7. Software will now calculate the needed unlock codes.
8. Enter the unlock code into the phone when it has powered on.

How to repair IMEI for ODM phones.

1. Select the exact model from the menu.
2. Check to which COM port the phone is connected.
3. Select the port number from the menu.
You need to know what cable you are using and if it supports high speeds.
4. Power off phone and connect cable.
5. Input IMEI and press "Repair IMEI" button
6. Press the power button shortly – you don’t need to hold the button.
7. Wait until the software has finished procedure.

Note: If the information cannot be read from the phone enter **@mery# (**16379#) into the phone – “Trace Switch” menu will be displayed, select the Tool menu with the cursor and click Select. The phone will display Modem ON Trace OFF – exit this menu and try reading the information from the phone again

How to make debug report.

1. Restart MSTool
2. Do operation again.
3. Wait until the software has finished procedure.
4. Go to settings tab and click Debug Report
5. Save file and send us together with MStool log.
